A Florida woman has been sentenced to 4 years in jail plus the loss of her driver's license for life. The Miami Herald reports that the “Party Princess” was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol, hitting a man walking to his car and then leaving the scene of the accident. The man later died of his injures. In addition to the jail sentence, she will have to perform 1,000 hours of community service and speak to school 5 times a year once she is released from jail. This is a tragedy for everyone involved and a reminder of the seriousness of DUI. The defendant was particularly targeted for this tough punishment because of posts she had made on the social media site Twitter about partying and drinking.
