California Criminal Defense Attorney

When you are charged with a DUI or any type of crime in California, there is hope. The our lawyers provide aggressive legal representation to people just like you who have been charged with DUI and DUI related crimes. We are highly trained in criminal defense and are eager to help you. There are a lot of steep penalties that come with a DUI or criminal conviction. These can include probation, steep fines, loss of driver's license, and jail time, just to name a few. In addition, a criminal conviction on your record can negatively affect your career or educational goals.

Our attorneys are highly experienced in the field and can help you fight charges regardless of what situation you're facing. Whether it is a first time DUI, a felony offense or a drug charge, we can build a strong defense for you. We believe that all offenses are defensible. You should never plan on pleading guilty to your charges and leaving your sentence in the hands of a judge. Our DUI attorneys will work with you to examine your case and look for possible defenses. A DUI charge does not always mean that you are guilty. Some of our most common practice areas include the following:

  • First DUI offense: Even a first time DUI conviction can lead to jail time, loss of license for up to one year, $1000 in fines, DUI driving school and more. Having a DUI on your record is never a good thing and should be avoided at all costs.

  • Second DUI offense: If you are charged with a DUI and already have a conviction on your record in the last ten years, you will be charged with a second DUI. With each progressive DUI you have, the penalties increase. You may be facing two years license suspension, 120 days in jail and even steeper fines.

  • Third DUI offense: When you are charged with a DUI and have 2 previous convictions on your record, you may be looking at felony DUI charges. You should speak with a lawyer as soon as you are charged with a 3rd DUI in order to fight the charges and avoid the jail time and license suspension associated with a third DUI conviction.

  • DUI accidents: A DUI charge is serious enough, but a DUI charge after an accident can be even worse. If there was a serious injury or a death in the accident, you may be facing felony charges.

  • Under 21 DUI: If you are under the age of 21 and caught driving a vehicle with any alcohol in your system, you may be charged with an Underage DUI. The legal limit for BAC in a person under 21 is 0.01%. In adults over 21, the limit is 0.08%. This means that you could lose your license for up to 6 months for driving with even the slightest amount of alcohol in your system.

  • Drug related DUI: DUI offenses do not always have to be alcohol related. California DUI lawyers have noticed an increase in the number of DUI cases involving drugs. A drug DUI can involved illegal or legal drugs and is hard to prove or disprove.

  • Minor in Possession: If you are under 21 and caught with alcohol, you could lose your license even if you weren't drinking or driving. An MIP offense can have serious and long term consequences that negatively affect your life.

  • Out of state license DUI: If you are from another state and are charged with DUI in California, your ability to drive in your home state could be affected as well. A lawyer can appear in court on your behalf and make sure you understand the legal implications of your charges.

  • Felony DUI: A DUI can be charged as a felony in several circumstances. If you caused an accident on purpose or have been convicted for multiple other DUI or felony charges in the past, you may be looking at serious penalties for a felony DUI.

  • Hit and Run: If you left the scene of an accident and are being charged with a DUI and a hit and run, call a DUI lawyer right away. You are facing severe charges that could seriously impact your life.

  • Child Endangerment: If you are arrested for DUI and a child is in the vehicle with you, you may also be looking at child endangerment charges. Hiring a California DUI lawyer is a smart idea as child endangerment charges can hurt your child custody status.

  • Commercial DUI: People who drive commercial vehicles for a living cannot afford to get a DUI conviction. Even if you were off duty and driving a personal vehicle, a DUI charge could cost you your career.

  • BUI: Just like vehicles, you are not allowed to consume alcohol and drive a boat. BUIs are no joke and can carry serious penalties just like DUIs.
